The City of Hull Athletic Club aims to encourage male and female runners of all abilities, over the age of sixteen, to enjoy the pleasures of both running and feeling fit by providing a social and competitive running environment.
The club currently has approximately 204 members, of which 70 are ladies, and is always looking to increase this number. New members are more than welcome. We organise training sessions, social events and the club is represented in a number of local competitive races, for example:
We organise two open races each year, the Ferriby10 Road Race in January and Humber Bridge 10K in May.
The club also organises the annual Champagne League, a series of 10 races from April to July each year taking in some of the most spectacular scenery in the East Riding area - this is open to running club members only.
In the winter the club organises a winter league on the first Tuesday of each month from October to March, this is a 3 mile handicapped race at the Humber Bridge.
Also in the winter the club is represented in the East Yorkshire Cross Country League.
If you interested in joining a large and friendly running club then please go to the Membership page on this site for full details. Here are a few good reasons why you should join:
We have members of all ages and abilities so you will generally find people to run with who have similar aims as yourself.
You save £2 on each open race, so 5 of those pays back your membership fee each year.
You will make new friends.
You will have fun and improve your fitness at the same time.
Some of the races we organise or compete in are only open to club runners, for example East Yorkshire Cross Country League and Champagne League.
Club members also receive money off at some shops and businesses, see our services and links page, also most running shops will give you 10% off if you run in a club.
We organise trips to other local races and run in different areas so you need not travel alone.
